I'm not looking for a beautiful aesthetic accountable image, which can be read easily.
But an image that has trapped me; I can look all day and which poses questions just like a unsolved riddle.
To reach this, I allow myself to be led by intuitive feelings.
I experiment with colour and form, media and technique. And build up the imagery bit by bit, through an interaction between painting and literal layers.
Discoveries and fragments of different phases, I put together and work out until I can wander in and around the image.
The imagery is dynamic, energetic and experimental.
It contains references to landscapes, maps and urban architecture. It also involves influences of my eastern and western background.
The spectator has to experience the work himself in his own way. Initially he will be surprised and confused. As if he is within a labyrinth. Where's the beginning and where is the end?

Photography is an other part of my work practise.
The selection of photo's taken are of bands/ music that I'm interested in. And in particular to capture the energy of the event.
